An inspirational and motivating coach of some 10 years experience, Pat has coached and delivered outstanding results in key players in some of the world’s top corporates – Unilever, Blockbuster International, Scottish Equitable, British Telecom, the MoD to name but a few. Apart from the UK and Europe, Pat has coached in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan; across different races and cultures. Such was his record of success that 95% of his coaching assignments now come from referrals from previous clients.
Pat hails from a banking and financial services background where he achieved senior management status in almost record time, notwithstanding the mixture of successes and setbacks that all managers know only too well. Armed with a wealth of hands-on experience, Pat set out on a journey of discovery in 1990 to find a structured way of helping people through the pain of learning how to perform in business at optimum level. He travelled the world in search of new ideas and philosophies, from global commercial centres to the tropical rain forest! The learning from this was that it doesn’t matter how big the company, or what market sector the company operates in, or where in the world it is situated, the issues that face all levels of management in their pursuit of excellence remain the same.
Research completed, the Pharos Leadership Programme was developed, culminating in Pat founding the Pharos Group in 2004, comprising a group of highly qualified, high achievers, who shared Pat’s values and beliefs that using a sound and structured approach to management development using coaching methodology, we could become a major force in the creation of excellence in business performance, delivering increased and more effective management skills that impact on bottom line.
Pat’s philosophy is that each of us possesses a comprehensive personal ‘tool kit’ of values, beliefs and abilities. Our selective use of those tools undoubtedly delivers a share of successes. In that setbacks also occur isn’t an indication that we are not ‘up to the job’, but simply that we don’t always pick the right tool from the box, and when we do, we don’t always use it correctly.
Pat is a recognised trainer of executive coaching for new coaches. Apart from his role of training and supporting our UK and Ireland coaches, his services will be utilised in many countries around the world as Pharos continues to expand to deliver our goal of becoming a globally recognised brand of coaching excellence.
